I strive to understand the needs and concerns of each child and teen, in the context of their family, school and social world. I seeks to understand how they have come to think, feel, react, and behave in the way they do.
I use a wide range of evidence-based psychology approaches to meet each child & adolescent’s psychological, emotional, relational, and developmental needs.
I am especially skilled in using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), which has been proven to help children & adolescents work through anxiety, trauma, and other challenges, helping them develop resilience and feel more secure as they navigate tough times.
I strive to create a warm, welcoming space where children and adolescents (and parents!) feel safe to express themselves - whether they’re working through big feelings, behavioural issues, or just need someone to talk to. By working closely with children and their families, my goal is to nurture self-esteem, emotional wellbeing and growth in a way that really sticks.
All appointments booked for children and adolescents require an initial parent consultation without the child or adolescent in attendance.
Children below age 6 will require a caregiver's participation in appointments. Children above age 6 will require a parent or caregiver to remain on the premise or nearby.
Parents may be required to attend sessions with their child and attend review appointments as and when required.
